The NEO-M8U module introduces u-blox's Unconnected Dead Reckoning (UDR) technology, which provides continuous navigation without the need for vehicle speed information. This innovative technology brings advantages to inertial navigation installations, which were previously limited to GNSS, which will significantly reduce the cost of installation in the aftermarket for inertial navigation applications.

Especially in poor signal conditions, the advantage of UDE is clear: it provides continuous positioning in urban environments, even when a device with an antenna is installed in the vehicle. Effective positioning performance in the event of a complete loss of signal, e.g. in parking garages and short tunnels. Before GNSS is installed for the first time, the use of UDR allows for quick positioning of the module after it is powered up.

The NEO-M8U can be installed anywhere in the vehicle and requires no configuration. In addition to not having any electrical connection to the vehicle, the on-board accelerometer and gyroscope sensors provide a completely self-contained solution that is ideal for rapid product development with consistently reliable performance.

The clever combination of GNSS and sensor measurements enables precise real-time positioning at speeds up to 20 Hz for the smoothness and responsiveness required for interactive applications. Local high-velocity sensor data can be used for host applications such as driving behavior analysis or accident reproduction.

The NEO-M8U includes u-blox's latest generation of GNSS receivers and incorporates Galileo to form a multi-constellation receiving network including GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and QZSS. The module provides extremely high sensitivity and is able to receive and track quickly

GNSS signals. UART, USB, DDC (I2C COMPATIBLE), AND SPI INTERFACE OPTIONS PROVIDE FLEXIBLE CONNECTIVITY AND SIMPLE INTEGRATION WITH MOST U-BLOX CELLULAR MODULES.

u-blox M8 modules are AEC-compliant? Q100 standard GNSS chips and manufactured in ISO/TS 16949 certified factories. Qualification tests are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the ISO16750 standard: "Road vehicles - Environmental conditions and tests for electrical and electronic equipment".
